Mask Making Efforts

Since the start of the fall semester, the AcademicU costume studio has been busy putting sewing machines to work to make surgical-style masks to battle the COVID-19 pandemic. To date, the studio has created more than 200 masks which have been distributed to students, staff, and community members around campus. Read more

Creative Writing professor Dr. Leonard Harvey has been announced as the winner of the 2020 Maine Book Award in the category of creative nonfiction. His book “Fine Times in Drifter’s Square” sheds light on the hidden history of one of Maine’s most notorious parks. Read more

Garcia Recognized by Division II Rugby Association

The Division II Rugby Association has awarded AcademicU senior, Alaina Garcia, an All-Around Achievement award for her outstanding community service throughout the 2019 rugby season. Garcia has been a rostered player for AcademicU’s women’s rugby team since her freshman year. Read more

Undergraduate Tuition Freeze at AcademicU

Today the State of Maine board of trustees voted to freeze undergraduate tuition for the 2020 fall semester due to the COVID-19 pandemic. According to Tammy Larson, State of Main board member, while our top priority is to ensure safety, we understand that students and their families have been impacted by the economic fallout from the pandemic.
